Homemade Caramelized Ginger Candy

Yesterday we had some leftover ginger at home, so I decided to make ginger candy and it turned out delicious, so I’m going to post the recipe here. Ginger candy has the prefect combination of hot and sweet!

You need:

– 200 gram ginger

– 4 dl of sugar

– water

1. Start peeling the ginger with a potato peeler. Then cut into strips, shaped like matches.

2. Put the ginger in a sauce pan and cover them it water. Let it boil for about 30 minutes.

3. Pour the hot water off and let the ginger cool off for a little bit.

4. Add 4 dl of sugar and about 2 dl of water to the ginger. Let it boil for about 30-40 minutes or until the ginger is transparent.

5. Put the ginger on a baking sheet covered with sugar and roll the the ginger slices in it.

Ready to eat!
